La distillerie artisanale Papa Rouyo est née d’un collectif de planteurs de Guadeloupe, eux-mêmes issus de générations d’agriculteurs. L’unicité de nos rhums s'explique par un processus de fabrication nécessitant 48 à 72 heures (fermentation + distillation), et l'utilisation de méthodes artisanales pour la coupe de la canne longue. Le rhum est distillé dans nos alambics à repasse. Nous sommes les seuls à utiliser ce système de distillation en Guadeloupe.
