Human at the Heart of the Rum Ecosystem

The economic activity of rum has always developed in a deeply cultural context, regardless of the producing country.

From the relationship between rum and culture, three aspects are easily identifiable and inherently rich: the representation of rum in art and culture, culture as a tool for showcasing rum, and rum as a link in cultural heritage.

It is undeniable that culture forms an important part of the world of rum. It allows rum to be showcased both literally and figuratively, elevating it to the level of artistic inspiration and sociological reflection.

Four Main Spheres

The conferences are structured around four main spheres.

BUSINESS

With production standards, rigorous controls, and optimized logistics, the rum sector aims to become a global leader in spirits. The RUM SUMMIT lays the foundation for this recognition by bringing together key players and decision-makers to address economic and environmental challenges. This ecosystem will rely on innovative processes destined to become quality and sustainability labels.

PUBLIC AFFAIRS

The RUM SUMMIT places humans at the heart of its ecosystem, guaranteeing promises of success. INNOVATION

Innovation is essential for progress. The RUM SUMMIT brings together ecosystem players to discuss and act on the future of the sector. The future of rum is being played out here, with innovation as the key lever for longevity and adaptability. Molecular chemistry, artificial intelligence, circular economy, and new technologies are all responses to challenges in quality, sustainable packaging (CSR), and barrel manufacturing methods that will influence the quality and aging of rum.

EDUCATION

The RUM SUMMIT places youth at the heart of its priorities, raising awareness among new generations about training and career opportunities in this ecosystem. This second edition will address the lack of visibility of the sector as a workplace. What training and degree programs are available? How can agricultural education be promoted? What integration methods are available for all qualified profiles? These are some of the questions that will shape the future of young people in the rum sector.
